In 2023 we welcomed this event back to the DVC calendar in July after a gap since before the Covid lockdown. Originally to mark Pentecost, it has evolved to become a Church family and friends' summer gathering. We are indebted to the many volunteers who help with obtaining, providing and preparing the food, organising the cooking, and running the event for us all. Entertainment was provided by the Colin Bray Jazz Band, consisting of Colin and Kathi Leverton, Peter Farrell and Lewis White, who we thank very much for their involvement. Also we thank the Digswell Brownies for their participation in providing the ‘mocktails’. Some 15 children enjoyed the bouncy castle provided. Having circulated an invitation to local neighbours, we were glad to have some families join us for the occasion.The BBQ followed a service conducted by our Minister Revd Rosemary Mutopo. This event was classed as a Church ‘Outreach event’, and is an example of the way we can involve all in the life of the Church.   Peter Holt.
